Traviss,

I had a '86 185. Stock 260 H.P. Merc 350. Nose coned it and put a stainless Bravo 21 on it. Ran 63 m.p.h. but it would get squirrly as hell in even a light chop at that speed. Also would start chine walking in ANY cross waves. I would not have wanted to go any faster ... I just don't think the hull was enough to handle it. I would not feel safe at any speed higher than low sixties in that boat. Not that I'm a wuss (just an ER physician) ... my 311 ran 80 m.p.h. and it wasn't fast enough!

reddog382. My boat did the same thing. It chinewalked bad at full throttle with the stock motor 58 mph. At 70 it has a little chinewalk in it not much at all. Once you put alot of power in it, the boat will not chinewalk anymore. Mine drives very smooth and is not a rough ride at all. It is very predictable. Just need alot of seat time to learn its quirks. When i first got it, when you launch over a wake or wave it will come down hard on the port side, I learned to chop the throttle before leaving the wave and now it lands nice and flat.. most of the time LOL! :D

My only comment is that I had an 18 Donzi Classic and the Powerplay could not keep up to it when the water got a little rough. Must be it's too light. It sounded fast though.
