Putting the tank in the bow was what powerquest saw as a quick fix to what they felt was a design, that got a little to loose with to much positive trim, which i felt they thought might become a liability. My opinion is you should never load the ends especially the bow as this might cause the boat to hobbyhorse. The BARON with the 52 gallon tank in the floor not only made the boat balanced and have a lower center of gravity but also was not overly affected by fuel use .The BARON with a full tank and two people in the boat will run at a perfect attitude, and with four people is a running machine in the rough stuff ,like four footers on Lake Michigan.Again as baronmarine said were not beating up on the powerquest just trying to give you guys an idea how the BARON handles.

Scott i don't know how to do a direct link to the thread and i really don,t want to type it over again so if you do a search on boating discussion under LAKE MICHIGAN COTTAGE and click on the second thread and go to post 33,34, and 35 you will find the story. My older brother is the guy who designed and started the first BARON.The guy on this thread that goes by baronmarine is a friend that i sold my old BARON to 20 years ago.Hope this helps you out.

Is todd build boats any more??

boatnt - Todd left years back and is in commercial real estate and Kevin sold out few years ago and now owns Woodmatic in Holland, mi. Turned out some solid boats out of that old pole barn.

nice pics woogie. My boat had that black decal oin the side in the stripes, thats little 6 wide by 1' tall. I took it off and it makes the boat look longer ;) Mine looked goofy with that little black on the side. Your blends in alot better.

Cool thread.. :D
