The seller had Monty rebuild the 3 V8's and they dyno at 430 ea. 88 mph should be achievable with bigger wheels. Cool build but this guy is going to take a bath on this build.

Long time ago I had a pr of them on a center console , the counter rotating lower unit on mine was always breaking . After going through several of them I gave up and went with 2 standards , that seemed to hold up pretty well .

They will really smoke but the boat will be faster than most of you realise. I had Monty build me a power head and the dyno sheet showed 400 horsepower. The Monty power head was 10 mph faster than a stock v-8. The only drawback was it really loved mass quantities of 93. This boat is a real sleeper that will really piss off somebody in in a new $250000.00 boat.

My $0.02 opinion, worthless opinion is it is an 81 mph boat. Pretty cool boat for that time frame. That is a very smart way to look at it. We forget to actually do the math. :) My 2 cents. It's a fishing boat so how fast does it need to be? It is too easy to fly out of a boat like this. So speed should not be a goal .imo |
