Water depth was never an issue here but it is something to keep in mind.
Another option for this to avoid the sliding buckets is a flat piece of steel. We have a 2'x4' inch and a half plate of steel with holes water jet in it. Drop it on the bottom, in a couple of days it is completely burried and it is not moving. I got it for $40 from a fab shop and it was scrap. Never had it move or drag in years.

I have a floating dock held in place by cross chains , we got ahold of a couple concrete vault lids . Nice thing is they have rebar handles cast in for tie offs.
