I am very happy to see that there is starting to be a demand for these boats that we all love but I don't know that any one would want to buy a boat from Fountain now days with the lack of management and horrible costumer service from the president of the company all the way down the line. If you had any kind of warranty issues you will most likely not be taken care of. Just read this post that I started in the owners form http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/f...nt-issues.html . Just something to think about before you go and spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on a boat.

"Eddie" Ed Champion will chime in here with all the details and be able to answer your questions. He has a trip planned to the factory in NC tomorrow and i'm sure would like to hear everyone's questions and opinions!

well from looking at the picture,it looks like they kept the throttles on the left side where they belong.

Headed to the factory tomorrow, I'd love to see a 42 with 1,100's turbo motors ordered too!
I'll see what's going on, who's around and why people can't reach anyone and report back to the class. I'll grab some pictures too. |
Reggie would probably pay you cash if you managed to get a few of his trophies out of there for him...

Make a pit stop in the parts dept for me while your down there LOL

I would think with all of the people needing service parts for their boats (we see it on OSO and elsewhere all the time), that they would have a pretty decent side business with a good service parts website with 1 or 2 responsible people running it. Even part time, they could move some parts and get the old tooling equipment back to making money instead of collecting dust. ...all the while, getting a much better word of mouth reputation than they have now. Take a looks at Lipship's parts site - can't order online, but they do list a few parts to draw some interest. I checked DonziDirect.com as they used to have a decent site for ordering parts, but it wouldn't pull up for some reason. Coincidence??
Hell, bring some summer interns in and satisfy some customers over a three month period. I love my Fountain, and would love to get another one (42 - 700/6) - but even if I had the money, I don't think I would buy a new one due to the lack of customer service and support. Just think about it needing a repair, your boat is there - and you can't get anyone to respond to it's repair status. It's sad really - seems like the company is not in touch with the market's (and their customers') needs. |
Eddie what ever happened when you visited Fountain?
|
Curious, rf3 on facebook says his mother in law is running the company and shows new boats being built, why so quiet over here?
