Outerlimits Fireworks

In 20-something years of interviewing owners of new boats I can't remember a happier guy than this one, http://www.offshoreonly.com/articles...mits-fireworks.

124mph in a 41' boat with only twin 700's. That is truly amazing. Wow

Paint looks great, saw it yesterday in the bay while I was setting up the marina for the season. Had to run out in the workboat to get a closer look. Congrats to the owner

Looking forward to seeing that beautiful OL on Lake St. Clair this summer.

That's what I was thinking. How much does that boat weigh?

This boat has officially made a 40 skater classic, which requires 800hp a side to run 120mph, obsolete. A 41ft vee bttom with a cabin running 124mph on 700hp a side is awesome. I've wondered for awhile when we would see a vee bottom of equal length and power with a cabin, that was able to outrun the early skaters. Well now we have it....

at 9300lbs it should run .I like to see it run in the snot @ LOTO I bet it skips just like a flat rock

Rollin1405 04-20-2016 11:25 AM

I personally owned the first 41' of this hull design and loved it! I ran it at LOTO during the shootout weekend, and in 4'-6's in the buffalo poker run. Others that were in Buffalo can attest how good this hull handles snotty water. Every stop we made I had people telling me how flat it ran and how they couldn't believe how it ran in big water.

Where have you guys been. Vinnie got these numbers a year ago w his. I think SOTW did an article on it too.

Here it is http://speedonthewater.com/new-boats...JkaW9yaW8ncyJd

A feature on the second SL 41 like yours will be included in the upcoming feature article in Speed On The Water digital—and of course that will be included. :)

And we'll also be publishing a feature on your SV 43. Really excited about that build.

I dont have first hand knowledge so certainly take this with a grain of salt but I think Vinnie had the same numbers and OL just didnt have him dialed in yet.

hustlerguy 04-20-2016 11:39 PM

Dont remember exact numbers but 116 stock and 124 with Stage 2 kits I believe
I think vinnies ran 117 in the shootout course.
pretty impressive

Donziben 04-21-2016 07:58 AM

it's a nice boat and there is no doubt that it is fast, but I don't believe they are stock 700's. I also don't believe it will ride very well in 4-6's. The 41 would be a rough ride at LOTO.

I have no doubts about the speed if the boat was very light on fuel, and one person.

For comparison a 39 T/S Cig with 700's will hit 110mph if its very light, and Cigarette's twin step hull technology is now 16+ years old without any major changes. Outerlimits has been changing, tweeking, and upgrading their hull tech with almost every new boat that comes out while most of the other companies in the vee bottom world have been sitting there fat, dumb and happy since around 2000.

Not to mention Outerlimits accomplishes these speeds with a real cabin, not two bench seats and a porta-john.

You act like St. Clair and Erie never gets rough? Any 41 foot boat will take it well, it't not just a cigarette thing....

Like I said earlier 124 is a stage 2 light and good run.
My 08 39 ran 110 stock. 118 w/ stage 2 lightly loaded
New bottom design, low deck height they run good and run flat i've seen vinnies run in person.

As far as 4-6' waves every boat will get bounced around in that. It just depends how fast your running.
