That's one of the reasons we use the box anchor. There rule of thumb is 3:1 scope vs traditional anchor's 7:1. thus for 10ft water depth, you should use 30ft of line. for 20ft use 60, and so on. If your worried about someone running over your anchor line, use a anchor buoy so they know there's a line there.

I`ve had the smaller Box anchor on a 33' boat and in Lake Michigan the boat would move and the anchor would pull out when the waves start coming in. The big Box is just so damn heavy 25LBS! The Fortress(10 lbs!) with a 5' chain digs in and holds my 38 Cig like a champ and is easy to handle.

I put one of those plastic bins with the self locking lid in my engine room. It can hold two anchors easily. It also comes out with 3 screws to work on the engine.

Have a digger that worked well for my 27' .....got a large box for a bigger boat and although it holds very well I will keep the digger because it handles easy and holds good for its size.
