I'm thinking about sewing some vinyl in the cover over the anchor locker to keep it nice and dry.

On that model Sunsation they have a drain tube that runs from the mid cabin to the bilge (it is behind the porta potty under the step). So if for some reason you get a lot of water in the mid cabin it drains into the bilge. However if the bilge gets water in it and the stern is higher than the bow then the water will run forward into the mid cabin (lift issues/trailer tongue sitting on the ground).

Oh yes very familiar with the open bow catching water! I just moved to a closed bow 35 Donzi ZR where I assumed the bilge would stay bone dry on the lift. The anchor locker definitely seems like the culprit since it is the only part remotely exposed to rain.

My boat has been on the lift now for 6 months and I can see how cleaning it becomes a whole lot more difficult, I need to get a kayak or something to get to the transom and outside hull.

The absorbent pads you can get a west marine work great at soaking up oil, my boat hold water on the lift even though the bow rail on the lift is set higher, I even have a self bailing cockpit.
