Oh yes very familiar with the open bow catching water! I just moved to a closed bow 35 Donzi ZR where I assumed the bilge would stay bone dry on the lift. The anchor locker definitely seems like the culprit since it is the only part remotely exposed to rain.

My boat has been on the lift now for 6 months and I can see how cleaning it becomes a whole lot more difficult, I need to get a kayak or something to get to the transom and outside hull.
The absorbent pads you can get a west marine work great at soaking up oil, my boat hold water on the lift even though the bow rail on the lift is set higher, I even have a self bailing cockpit. |
