Florida Powerboat Club In Key West, Readying For Cuba Run

They were scheduled to leave this AM from Key West at 8:00. Stu said on the website they expected a 2~2 1/2 hour crossing if all goes well. They were headed into a 3~5 foot head sea this morning that should have subsided as they got closer to Cuba. Winds are out of the SE 10~15 KTS. They are on a South to SE heading from Key West to Havana and I would think that after the half way point the Big Island of Cuba would be blocking most of that SE wind.
I predict that they are having Lunch and drinks about now.

They were only going to run as fast as the slowest boat. Which I believe, as of this am, is the new FPC CC. All those cats that went will only get to stretch on the way home I guess.

Stu could have maintained 35~ 40 comfortably in his new boat so if they left at 8 they were probably in the marina clearing customs by Noon or 1 PM.

I'm certainly not rich but I would do my best to give some $20 hand shakes to as many working people as I could. We may never know how much some of them may need it. A little can go a long way in a place like that.
