I agree 100%. Much more interesting than the latest round of CC Verado installs

Tyson (BigSilverCat) posted on this a long while back. I can't remember if it's on this thread somewhere or not.
Regardless, he has a lot of experience with long distance speed runs, and he had a lot of facts and pointed out holes which debunked their record's attributes.

Unpopular opinion... But I could not agree more. My understanding was that it worked really well though.. I think it was 7xchamp that I read that from.

I think I mis-read Tommys post. What I meant was; I wish there were some more details on this whole story/situation of the boat in Cuba

Personally I like the original the best, but I like everything old school. Can't tell me this isn't timeless. All that and a bag of chips

I love the original. I still remember seeing it run in Key West for the first time. Like it was yesterday. People around me were astonished and amazed over the way this boat was running, Nobody saw this one coming out for that race.

We snapped a skeg in the same spot years ago. We had a soft grounding in a channel, so the skeg was in mud or sand when the wind blew the bow sideways.

yikes....but I thinking about it if that skeg was in the mud good the weight of the boat is just too much. The skeg seems like it "should" hold up much better but I have no real clue with those drives.

DO NOT take this wrong, but how in the hell can it NOT look as bad up close as it does in the pics?
