This is simple....

you were half drunk, the guy is from Europe. You simply forgot the conversion factor to the metric system. So 8 to 10 centimeters is actually 3-4 inches. which is consistant with forecasts, webcam footage and eyewitness statements.

So then whats the story here. Is the record run a bunch of bull or was it confirmed that it was broken. Was wondering can the boat run 90mph in 8 to 10s. Ive seen a lot of races but legit 8 to 10s seems a little much.

Nothing that size can run 90 mph in 8'-10' seas assuming the tide is against you, If it were possible they would still be trying to get there as they would be going backwards just as much as they would be going forwards.
