Default Does anyone know how these 377 Scorpions will run in a 28 Donzi??

I have a Donzi 28ZX project boat. I am looking to maybe put these engines in it. Does anyone know first hand how fast it would run?
Thanks.

I know the 350 MAG ones will run in the low 70's so upper 70's sounds about right.

Knot is correct. A buddy has a 28 w/350s and it runs right around 72-73.

Looked at the ad. Pretty sure Scorps were 350 HP, not 377.

before you jump the gun - what did these engines come out of when brand new - I/O app or inboard app or V drive app ??? also if an I/O app what drive ??? I understand not an alpha outdrive. See the tune will be different per whatever app they came out of and Do they have the stock tune ?? and the stock ECM installed ??? These should be MEFI 3

Huge tip for free - always have the engine serial numbers and the all ECM info to pass on to a real Merc dealer so they can run all of that to see what app it was installed and if everything is OEM stock put together - If not problems may arise for your install because it does not met your app going to be installed.

ONE engine does not work for all apps - it will be lesson learned. ECM and PCM are tuned differently by the OEm per their apps. ie: and inboard has an different tune than an I/O and so on. Common problem when buying used stuff passed around. U have to do your homework

Thanks for all the replies. The engines were originally paired to Bravo drives. Merc serial numbers confirm this, also has the serial numbers for the drives and transoms on them too. Merc dealer just ran the numbers for me. Never any warranty claims on either engine. They came out of an Advantage.
377HP according to this post. http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/g...ion-specs.html
