Default In Need of a OMC V8 outboard block...

Does anyone have a OMC (johnson/evinrude) V8 outboard cylinder block laying around? A very good freind punched a hole in his. I was just wondering if they were any out there and how much.. It might be a hell of a wedding gift for him

Thank you

Travis

Question

How bad is the damage??? I had a small 50hp Mariner that i bought....had a hole the size of a nickle in the side due to the piston skirt blowingup and getting wedged in between the wall and the con. rod! Anyway the guy who rebuilt my engine saved me a TON of money cause he was able to weld and machine the hole shut.......the place was G-Force Technology in WI....real nice guy and seamed to realy know his stuff on outboards!

When we glanced at it last night the hole was about as big as my fist and it tore up the inside of the block to, its total loss but that was at night and we could barely walk He called this morning and it was kinda worse, the piston stuck and it ripped a wrist pin right outta the piston then the rod cam through the side.. He is throwing up the idea of the highest hp 300 pro max replacing the V8. but He thinks the Pro max won't have the torque like the V8 to get it on plane..

neu-rich- Where do you boat?....

Thats cool.. Most of our boating is up north at the house on Van ettan lake in oscoda.. But after labor day I brought my boat home to run on the bay a few times.. We put it at the rust st too. Last time was a thursday. It was great.. the bay was like glass. What kinda boat do you run?..
