Its hard to say if it will and at what speed it will start getting weird handling but it did run 118 in the st clair river with 7lbs pounds of boost
I personally had a 28 with twin old school 496 ci with intercooled 250 blowers at 7lbs boost they made 740 hp a side that boat ran 109.9 on the limiters at 6000 rpm we did them up at tylers shop that boat accelerated like a rocket.
The checkmate you are talking about has ran as good as 115 that I know of for sure but getting a number 6 to work on a single is job in its self from what I have herd he did it.

Redcheckmate (or is it Check300 ?) is a member here. He had that twin turbo 17psi 540cid checkmate.

Gary Taylors Howard bullet single vee ran in the 120's also, not at shootout however BUT Bob Teauge WAS in the boat with him so I tend to believe it. Now Garys getting man love since going to prison but thats a whole different story!

My two cents, detonation can happen from running 87 Hess , Tyler being an engine tuner , engine builder, machinist,
Always get the bad , when anything goes wrong. You can tune an engine on the dyno, but conditions in a boat are completely different , I am positive Tyler didn't intentionally give someone a bad tune, so he can get bad mouthed. Good luck with your project Tyler, there are some enthusiast on this site that appreciate , trying to go fast in a single engine v bottom. I'm sure the conditions were aweful in Texas and not possible to run any faster in a 26 ft hull.

And a great run it was! You and your crew are first class and hope to see you back this year!

The Aussie ski race boys are running upto 140mph in 21ft single v typically merc 1350 QCV4s with a six drive.

Oh by the way that's towing two skiers as well.

Set aside 5 minutes and watch this

The Checkmate with a #6 is an awesome boat but the one I am talking about is a Vision 22' that ran 131.62. Story on the boat is over on the Checkmate website. I would think with 2200 hp Crocketts boat could potentially run 140 or 150. Not sure if that has ever been done.
