Anyone know what a set of 2001 HP500efi heads (complete) with 20 hrs. on them are worth? What about stock cam and lifters from the same motor?

not much , you can buy new merlins for around $650 each. cost $300 to freshen used heads. cam is worthless, no body will buy used cam,lifters must be kept in order, no body will trust that they are, sorry

The HP500efi uses hyd.roller set-up so you can transfer a used set from one engine to another. the roller lifters do not have to be indexed to the cam because they do not establish a wear pattern because they do not rotate in the bores. The cam itself is billet steel and doesn't have the tendency to wear. The roller lifters are also rebuildable by Crane and CompCam. The hyd roller lifters are pricey at somewhere around $300 a set and the cam is somewhere around $250 from most speed shops, not from Merc. If you are building the engine youself you can save some money by buying used if these fit your needs but I would consult with your engine builder(if you are using one) before you buy them. On the heads, price new ones and talk to your builder and have the used ones inspected. It may be almost as cheap to buy the Merlins.
