We hung out a lot and always the same thing "C'mon son" that was Anthony. All of us that were at Lanier this weekend are destroyed. I have gotten calls from every single friend from all over the country to check on us. This Thursday he was carry my new born doing what he like to make everyone do smile and laugh. That was Anyhony. Miss you brother and thank you for allowing me in your world. I'll see you on the other side. Race in peace cowboy. SADDLE UP

cherish the moments and carry the memories of the wonderful people and personalities they were, just as you said, they make them like that anymore.

Sorry that the post was offensive, it was to share the most up to date news from on the scene authority. Lots of people were speculating and posting misinformation. I don't believe you were directing your concern at me but the people in the video, I just wanted to clarify as to why the link was posted. I knew the people on board and wanted to make sure those that wanted up to date news (at the time) could get it.

There are people here who knew Anthony far better than I did, but if you knew Anthony at all then you had a friend who always had time to say hello. Anthony was so down to earth, and as my wife says, just a good, good guy! Years ago our boats were at different marinas on Lake Cumberland but we both had 38 Fountains, so whenever we crossed paths on the lake we'd stop and chat each other up about what we were trying at the time to squeeze a few more MPH out of our 38s. We were boating friendly but outside of bumping into each other at the lake we didn't hang.

In the summer of 2011 my wife had finished treatment for stage-one breast cancer and was getting some of her hair back, but she still wore a cap everywhere to hide her lack of hair. We were at the Nashville Poker run after-party at the VFW. They had a DJ playing tunes and once in a while a group would venture out and dance for a song or two. But the dancing was sporadic at best. My wife Lorrie loves to dance- just loves it. I can't and usually dont. Well one of Lorries favorite songs came on and she just instinctively jumped out onto the dance floor,..... but nobody else followed her. Nobody! She was kind of a pathetic sight out there all by herself with her obvious chemo hair and cap.

As it was dawning on me ( in my inebriated state) that I was actually going to have to join my wife on the dance floor, Anthony saw her plight and jumped out there with her - big black hat and all. Anthony saw my wife in an uncomfortable situation and although he barely knew her came to her rescue. That's the kind of guy he was. Anthony didn't just dance one song, or two, but spent the next 30 minutes tearing up the dance floor with Lorrie. Other people joined in and Lorrie had a much-needed fun night - thanks to Anthony. I thought the world of him for doing that for her. He was Golden in my book. As someone else said, a true Southern Gentleman.

Saddle Up is an Iconic boat, but more than that Anthony and Tammy were iconic people. The Lake Cumberland community thought the world of that couple. People all over this lake who will never own a performance boat met Anthony and Tammy while admiring Saddle Up and came away blown away by how down to earth and friendly both of them were. I cannot express how much they were both liked and admired by the community on Lake Cumberland. The whole lake is in mourning. My wife Lorrie is taking this news very hard. They were so full of life and just genuinely good people.

The last time I spoke to Anthony a few weeks ago I was sitting out at the dam but with my hatches open so they wouldn't vapor lock. Anthony saw my hatches open and rolled up on us to make sure we were ok. That's the kind of guy he was. When I think of Anthony and Tammy I think of them sitting out by the dam on their boat late on a Sunday afternoon, as they did so often. We took the pontoon over to State Dock this afternoon for dinner and came back by the dam just as the sun was setting. I snapped a few pics and thought of Anthony and Tammy. You are already missed.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the families on this tragic loss.

Thoughts and prayers go out to families and friends of all four individuals lost in this tragic incident.

Marginmn summed up the Saddle Up captain and first mate perfectly. The performance boat community has suffered a loss of some of its most-loved family.
