Default Toronto marine surveyor

Hello All, I'm looking for a recommendation for a marine surveyor in the Toronto area. Vessel is a 2004 sonic prowler 500EFI and merc extension box with ITS and XR drive. Let's hear what you have to say about surveyor's in the area and this setup! Thank you for your opinions!

Also looking for info on using a broker to assure all the paperwork is in order at the border crossing. If anyone has any recommendations or information on this it would be greatly appreciated!

I spoke to the buffalo field office for customs and they told me to make sure I have a separate bill of sale for boat and trailer, and signed title/registration and tell the first agent I encounter that I just bought this boat and here is all my paperwork. They then will direct me to the office where they will issue a form 7501 which I will have to sign in front of them and then take to NYS DMV when registering. Sounds too easy, what are your thoughts??

I also spoke with a few brokers. One told me since I will be towing the boat, I'll have to be a carrier registered with the national carrier association, I'll need to have an electronic manifest, a certificate of entry and a manufacturers affidavit (showing the boat was made in the US) to avoid paying duty.

Can anyone who has crossed at peace bridge or Lewiston validate any of this?? Is the broker just trying to sell their services?

Sounds like a lot of BS. I have bought many used vehicles, classics, boats, and snowmobiles in the US and imported them to Canada. Automobiles have added a step or form. Boats have been easy. Need title and bill of sale for trailer. Title and bill of sale for boat and you pay the Canadian sales tax on the CAN$ converted US$ value of the boat. And have a photocopy of the add of the boat advertisement.

I am coming from Ontario into New York and registering in NY. I believe it is much simpler to go the other way.

OK. I traded a boat in the US once too. Payed $400 for a broker and towed it to Oregon.
