Hello All, I'm looking for a recommendation for a marine surveyor in the Toronto area. Vessel is a 2004 sonic prowler 500EFI and merc extension box with ITS and XR drive. Let's hear what you have to say about surveyor's in the area and this setup! Thank you for your opinions!

I spoke to the buffalo field office for customs and they told me to make sure I have a separate bill of sale for boat and trailer, and signed title/registration and tell the first agent I encounter that I just bought this boat and here is all my paperwork. They then will direct me to the office where they will issue a form 7501 which I will have to sign in front of them and then take to NYS DMV when registering. Sounds too easy, what are your thoughts??
I also spoke with a few brokers. One told me since I will be towing the boat, I'll have to be a carrier registered with the national carrier association, I'll need to have an electronic manifest, a certificate of entry and a manufacturers affidavit (showing the boat was made in the US) to avoid paying duty.
Can anyone who has crossed at peace bridge or Lewiston validate any of this?? Is the broker just trying to sell their services?
