Pantera38, Thanks for the response regarding transom mods. I was very interested in your boat when it was for sale. Hope you don't mind my following your project towards completion. It may help me in the future.

I have always heard that surface drives are faster than Bravos. What about Speedmasters? I still have to think the surface drives are a more efficient design.
