Gadgets,...I am working on Sat. until noon...can't get out of it as I am the Assembly Superintendent of the Co. we have some deadlines that have to be made or we pay penalty clauses....(the owners don't like that)...I'm trying to get the wife to let me get out of another ordeal we are supposed to be at Sat afternoon, anyway give me a call when your free for lunch sometime my office#; 517-267-1171

Kaama, I used to hang out on Gun Lake with a jet boat that I raced and met lots of hot-rod boaters, the last time I was at Premeir I talked to one of the owners and it was like old times....he knew people I knew and so on....I think they are great people to deal with although I have only bought parts, oil and t-shirts from them I think they are good people....Fred

The temps should be in the mid 60s. The lake is still warm so it will feel fine. No long pants allowed:D It's still summer. I'll probably go to fishermans also.

KAAMA 10-03-2002 10:01 PM

Not sure if I'll have the boat running by Saturday now as it looks. We just worked on it again tonight and we need a terminal strip with 1/4" studs on it for battery ground cables, also need the right bolt size/length for the carb linkages. We fired the Port engine tonight and it is leaking fuel from the new fuel lines that go from the pump to the carb I have, so we have to replace those. Plus I need 2 new Gaffrig water temp guages as neither of them are working at all---I will not water test the boat unless ALL guages are working properly---but we're gettin/ close! :)

I still may bring the boat to the turkey burn and back it in the water and fire the engines to see how it is pumping lake water vs the hose.

Yeah, I would love to go with you all but its not possible on Saturday. I may try and stop by GLM before heading out of town to the bachlor party. Hopefully you guys are back on the dock by then. If not, next time:D

Great idea on the turkey burn:D

dyno 10-04-2002 09:49 AM

TTT just a reminder.....

Crazyhorse 10-04-2002 01:33 PM

We're going to the boat tonight (Fri.). We'll be around whenever people feel like dropping by. Someone bring paper plates and sporks (you know, the spoon/fork thingies KFC hands out). I'll see if Fred's brother Tom Swanson is going to be around but I think he said he was going to Glen Arbor for a weekend in the Corvette. I might even invite Mom and Dad, seeing as they live about 5 minutes from the Marina. Dad came down to check out Mr. Cig's boat when the Cigarettes were here for the boat races. He's a motorhead from way back.

Mr Gadgets 10-04-2002 07:11 PM

Any last minute takers on this deal.. I will be there with my wife and Jim, my boating buddy.. and another boat load, Greg and Dee got a new boat after their accident, so they will be there..

Any one else??? Nautigirl, Check300??? Come on it wont be that bad.. weather always comes to us in Mich!!! The more in a aboat the merrier.. and we can huddle to keep warm!! LOL

Too bad DanB cant make it.. LOL. I bet your nice and toasty down there Dan!!

Dick

MitchStellin 10-04-2002 08:02 PM

I'l bring the plates and fork thingamabobs. It is blowing 30+ out of the west so the lake should be pretty angry on Sat. Hope everyone makes it. No excuses. This could be the last ride... NOT:D

Mr Gadgets 10-04-2002 08:11 PM

Sounds good Mitch,
But I think it is dieing down out there now.. Weather man said it would be 2/4' in the afternoon.. It always lays down in the afternoon.. :D :D :D

See you there around noon.. I am looking forward to big water, never had the new boat in BIG stuff yet! Bigest I've been in was about 10/12'.. but big spaces..

Dick

MitchStellin 10-04-2002 08:42 PM

I'll go out in anything. Only the Coast Guard can keep up with me. I hope you are right but I live 1/4 mile from the lake and it is still really blowing. If we are lucky it will die and the waves will space out more. 5ft waves with a 3ft space makes for broken stuff:mad: I'll be there at noon, still planning on Fishermans since I know where that is. I think I will at least look for the other launch. BE THERE OR BE SQUARE. :D :p

Waterfoul 10-04-2002 10:15 PM

Well, it's 11:15 and the lake shore is still seeing 40 mph gusts. Waves are 6-8 footers. And with gusts you know they are stacked on top of one another.

I have to work till 11:00 and then go home to pick up Holly. Should be in Musky by 1:00.

MitchStellin 10-04-2002 10:25 PM

Well Mike we'll just have to get all liqured up and head out in that stuff. If we wear jackets what can go wrong? I really don't expect that to happen.:D

Waterfoul 10-04-2002 10:28 PM

You know my motto Mitch: That which doesn't kill you makes you all wet."

Or something like that!! LOL!!!

Or was it: "I'll do anyting once.....twice if she's really fun!!"

Waterfoul 10-04-2002 10:30 PM

Oh, and yes I've been drinking!!!

Polaski Days in Grand Rapids is a LOT of fun!!!

Now I need to go to bed so I can get to work on time!!! G-night!!

KAAMA 10-05-2002 12:11 AM

So, what time does this thing start or what time is chow going to be ready---GIVE US SOME TIMES PLEASE!

Mr Gadgets 10-05-2002 08:32 AM

Dick

MitchStellin 10-05-2002 09:14 AM

It's cold but not raining:D I can hear the Lake and it is very angry. It is ready to eat a boat today:eek: At least the water is warm and if you stay close to shore you should be able to survive:D I will be there around 12-12:30.

dyno 10-05-2002 09:28 PM

Thanks to all for coming out today we had a blast!!!!good food and good friends...took a good boys run just before we hit the trailers got some great air !!!!!Right Kaama?? we should try and do it again next year maybe a little earlier in the season so its a little warmer!!!

MitchStellin 10-06-2002 09:32 AM

It was a great time. We ate 4 12lb Turkeys and 100lbs of other food. Met some great people and found out Dyno lives right around the corner from me:eek: We need to get together again soon. The weather was great, a little cold, but sunny and the waves were big. We rode in JimVs boat and got some air and hit 84+ in the bay. Man that is fast and smooth. It goes faster but we ran out of room. At the end of the day I fell off the trailer and into the water. I was too lazy to take my shoes and socks off and ended up getting everything wet. Oh well, it was the first time in 39 years so I guess it is OK and no one saw it so that is even better:D Next year will be a better turnout when everyone finds out how much fun we had. It was great having this on the water so we could play. Plus there were a few boats out of the water so there were plenty of slips...for free:D I will post pictures later if I can get my E-Mail to work. Lightning really screws up things you know:mad: Great time, when is the next one? November?
