I heard Dennis put the other drive in gear:gfight::lolhit:

Not sure what they did but damn that's flying :eekdrop:

302Sport 08-28-2016 02:38 PM

Has the bottom been modified on that boat??

AZMIDLYF 08-28-2016 04:06 PM

Whoever is setting this boat up is on their game. :eekdrop:

thunderusone 08-28-2016 04:35 PM

I don't think most people understand what an accomplishment this is. Congrats guys!!

350scarab 08-28-2016 04:39 PM

Any pics of the boat ?

Skater30 08-28-2016 05:20 PM

WTF??? :eekdrop: Does that thing have quad turbines in it or something?! Amazing feat, no matter what power it has in it (I was joking about the turbines). Would love to see pics of the boat and engines. Huge congrats to those guys with their huge, VERY fast V-Bottom! :drink:

I couldn't have said it better. They definitely got their boat dialed in

edelectra 08-28-2016 05:24 PM

Does it matter? These guys went out there and worked all weekend to better their speed every run. What a number to put up in that boat, absolute wizards of speed!!! Kudos to this awesome father and son team! The little guys have put the big dicks on notice!

SB 08-28-2016 07:13 PM

If someone makes a statue of these two, I want one. :Score-101010:.

Living legends I tell ya'.

ARB38 08-28-2016 07:34 PM

Dennis and Jason are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. As has been said already, very few understand what they have accomplished. Way to go Dennis and Jason!! All the respect that you deserve.

I spent some time chatting with both Jason and Dennis at the award ceremony, and would echo that they are both first class professionals and the award is a small token of this incredible accomplishment,,,,,,,, 165mph in a older pleasure V bottom!

We all know that a Kilo run is completely different than a 1 mile shootout,, but they deserve to be recognized for there talent, skill and dedication in this project.

I am confident that if they keep raising the bar for V bottom boats, it will stimulate others to look seriously at there mouse trap for the future. Our team will be going back to the drawing board to keep up with them ,,,,,

CONGRATS,,

Doc Janssen

I think it's amazing. The fountain "catkiller" had comparatively unlimited resources/technology race teams working on it and a lighter race boat lay up...and looking at the boat it is a BEAST...Huge boat flat out getting it...Just Amazing!!! Huge Accomplishment IMO.

Could you imagine if they had one of those.

Apparently they have the right boat already. Imagine if they had an enclosed cockpit on it how much more speed they would have.

flat rate 08-28-2016 08:51 PM

Absolutely the most impressive boat at the shootout!! My hats off to them!!!!! Way to go!

nocoolname37 08-28-2016 08:55 PM

i couldn't believe how BAD of a run they could have, one of the runs what hopping, bouncing, chine walking, looked about to crash. what they do is so dangerous, so on the edge of control. but they make what ever changes and cause all sorta jaws to drop. shame this last run was done while on commercial break for the live feed :(

Congrats from a former BT owner. Way to go. Any vids?

1MOSES1 08-28-2016 09:53 PM

Awesome thread title and awesome boat. Congrats to the owners and everyone involved. Also shoutout to the Blue OL. That thing was hauling the mail. Both boats looked like they were on rails!!! Kudos!!

hogie roll 08-28-2016 10:00 PM

So does the BT or the 36' skater have more power?

Thanks everyone for the kinds words, Dennis and I are truly flattered.

@Doc J, your words especially mean a lot, you have been around the block numerous times and you know what it takes.

I'll dig up some video and pics tonight, along with some more information to post tonight!

Knot 4 Me 08-29-2016 09:56 AM

Jason, if you have the tv video of the 159 run, post that....your fist pump right before the finish line was classic

Gimme Fuel 08-29-2016 02:47 PM

Coolerman, you guys are my heros. I love Black Thunder's and you guys are absolutely on top of your game! That's one fast condo!

How about an 18 Wheeler...for perspective sakes. LOL.

1000 islander 08-29-2016 03:52 PM

Most impressive by far. Here I am trying to crack 90 in a 42 Fountain and these guys just about double my speed. Makes me feel kinda small.

and they did it with just 2 engines! :D

Your boat came out great, looks great in all white!

Those 2 could have your boat running 100+ without anymore power. You can do the same if you know where to look.

302Sport 08-29-2016 04:35 PM

I'm still very interested if the bottom has had any major mods done on top of obviously straightening and sharpening....

1000 islander 08-29-2016 04:37 PM

Oh I know. I think I could get it close with enough time and effort. I will be happy with low 90's when I get it there. I say that now, then I will want three blowers so I can crack 100.

Thank you. Definitely a labor of love because I could have bought a newer faster boat for what I have into this one. I guess I'm of the "anyone can do it with big steps and blowers" mentality. Never said I was too bright.

For some of us it is all about the hunt, anybody with $ can write a check for instant speed/results.

They have stated many times over the years (even when being interviewed for Speed On The Water) they keep refining the bottom, but they don't state what.

phragle 08-29-2016 06:32 PM

Thats moving!! you guys are crazy with a capital Kray-Kray!!!
