Almost ran over a unlit kayaker couple miles off the beach one night in the Gulf in my parasail boat .

I was doing maybe 20 mph on a fairly clear night with not another set of vessel lights in sight.

I never even saw him, only just as he passed by my quarter by about 3 feet .i never stopped.

You can't help Stupid.

Don't get in the ferries way!

Actually, quite a few of those commuter ferries move very fast. Some are catamarans with big diesel power and Arneson drives; rooster tails even. Those don't just cross the river, rather they travel a fair distance up and down the Hudson River and surrounding, making them truly commuter, vs. just crossing the river.

What he said! The Mackinaw Island Ferry really gets with the program...couple Cat diesels and some surface drives.
