"I would apply for a job there..shoot for CEO then you can come in and tell em what to do" .

ICDEDPPL, Thank you for the advice.

I guess I thought that that weight savings with the lowered deck, cover-girl cabin, sit-down cockpit, lighter power, etc., would get it to 100. My mistake. I still think it would be a popular boat even if it only runs 95.

I am seriously impressed! Very nice Robert.

I don't think it could get 100 but does it have to? Build it starting at $249k with that great OB warranty and there will be buyers. Not 100s but enough to make it worth building.

If I ran Donzi... We'd be broke. We would have a stable of awesome machines that this market wouldn't want apparently.

I like that they are building a 22 Classic but loose some of the classic. Build a Criterion while your at it too please. And put LS power in them!

I thought there are a few 30-32 cats that are trying to get under or right at 200k for the same package.

Couldn't they do the same with a OB 35ZR?

249K...... it would never sell. Another builder has a slightly smaller boat with twins for 120K less and it is still available.

278K for a 35 with 8.2's

189K with 8.2's

Baja is 9 mph slower but 90K cheaper.

I think that at $250K retail, it would sell. Not everyone wants a sitdown cat with no cabin. Those are selling at or above the $250K threshold and are all smaller in length

Donzi is a step above Baja on my boating ladder but I agree with you, if a new Baja is not flying out the door at 189k then a similar size Donzi for 278k won't either. It should be a custom order with a big deposit up front. Boats are too expensive now for manufacturers or dealers to hold stock or floor plan, only to have someone ask... "Can you build me one with different engines and a different color scheme?"

Only a hard core Donzi enthusiast would see the extra $$ value. (Same applies to a few of the other big name manufacturers)

If I ran Donzi I'd bring back the 27zr as an entry level with the 496. Outboard version would be even better but COG and transom design might make it very difficult.

My 2 cents.

Could it even be done for 250? I know skater and mti use a little more expensive materials but they are going in the 4's if I remember right.

If I ran Donzi I would have an entry level boat for less then 87 grand (18 Classic msrp 87,000.00)
