Default Baja 36 Outlaw or Baja 33 Outlaw??

As the title states I'm looking for input on the 36 Outlaw VS the 33 Outlaw. I've been approved on both boats just not sure which one to pull the trigger on. The 36 is a 2002 with built 540 EFI's, Imco extension boxes, XR drives, shore power, vaccu flush, AC, fridge, microwave, sitting on a 2008 myco trailer. The 33 is a 1998 with HP 500's carb motors. Fresh valves and springs, Imco extension boxes, XR drives, with portta pottie and fridge, Sitting on a 2002 Magnum trailer. There's a $15,500 between the two in purchase price. Both claim each boat with run low 80's which is were I'd like to be for top speed. Just wondering if the 36 is worth the extra $15,500 and having EFI over carb motors? I'll be running in the ocean as a weekend warrior and would like to do overnight's from time to time. It won't be an every weekend thing. Any input on pushing me to one or the other would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks in advance 👍🏻

33 Outlaw is a no brainer for me, faster, one of the most/more efficient hulls baja built, slightly easier to tow, responds better to horsepower modifications, the 500's are a great base regardless of being carbed, 33 has better resale, less weight for the Bravos to push (that 36 is heavy!)

The 36 is bigger but not that much. The 36 will have a better ride but at speed the 33 is pretty hard to beat. In the end, they arent THAT different. I run my 342 in the ocean and after coming from a lake and going to the ocean I cant see the 36 being reliable with 540's and bravos in the ocean. On and off the throttles in the ocean and the 36 will eat bravos. The 33 with 500's and XR's will be pretty reliable.

The 36 has 120hrs on motors and drives. Not sure of the hours on the hull. Precision Marine built the 540's. I'm not familiar with the shop. The 33 has 292 original hours and 60hrs on the valves and springs.

Do you have dyno sheet for the 540's, how much power did they make, good friend ran 700hp through XR's for three years and never broke one, all in how you drive.

Condition is everything and we don't know that, 15k is asking, bigger boat, four years newer, Myco is top line, I had a 33 and loved it started out with 502's then 540's

Don't have dyno sheets but I think he has them. The motors are 600hp each. Both boats are in pristine condition. No the $15k is what the difference is in price between the 36 and 33. Just wondering if it's worth spending the extra $15k on the 36.

I had a 36 and my buddy still has his 33.
The 36 is way bigger and sits higher.
There's more headroom down below with better creature comforts for overnights. It definitely will be better in the ocean.

mtb, if this is the 36 you are looking at....

http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/b...irth-baja.html

read up. I noticed quite a few similarities in your description to this boat. imo, without knowing anything about the 33 you are looking at...i'd vote for the 36. IF the 36 you are looking at is the one this thread is about.

I own a 33 and have driven a few others, also have driven a few 36's, the 33 is a more nimble boat, as far as the ride goes, I don't think there's really that much difference... I doubt either of those will consistently run 80 though.o

We love our 33, that being said, if you can swing the 15k, I would say its worth it with Precision motors! A+++ builder!! Very well known for high hp, and efi tuning. I have a 98 33 and what color would be my first question. Th 02 36 probably shows newer just by the colors. Bravos with 600+ is on the high side of capability of the XRs and depending on where you will be riding, you will be elbow deep in drive rebuilding, etc. The a/c would be nice!!
I have heard the 36ol are heavy. I was looking at a 36, but couldnt manage the storage space.

The guy I was talking to had a 36 and a 33. He said the 36 plows through waves vs the 33 riding more on top. I have been in our 33 in the GOM in 3-5s with 9 people in cockpit and the kids were not scarred a bit. that says a lot in my book.
