Excellent fast boat. The bottom is the same as a Velocity 22. However it is a little heavier and the cabin, for a 22/23 ft go fast, is not bad. My wife and I used to overnight in ours. A 1989 with 454 mag comes with full hydraulic steering and a Bravo drive. Pachangas have an alpha drive. On a good day with a light load and some good chop mine would just hit 71/72 mph.

A little over budget but looks to fill the bill.

Again, I'm looking for stock 454 bravo, 23ft-ish cuddy. Top speed is unimportant to me. Fuel use is important to me for 25-35mph long range cruising.

Going by memory but pretty sure it is end grain balsa like my 280 was. Whether balsamic or not, whatever you get serious about you need the check for moisture. Balsa if built correctly should not be a problem. Even without Balsa you still have transom and stringers to worry about.
