Thanks Taboma
Makes sense. So no more likely to have inversion with exhaust exiting through the leg or thru hull? Wasn't sure. Just something I read.
Mine is SX Drive with SS Merc Mirage 3 blade 25P.

Reversion will happen when the water is introduced into the exhaust too soon. Going through the drive is more restrictive and could lead to other issues with a higher hp engine.

Keep us posted on how you like the boat. I miss mine and to this day one of the most fun boats I have ever driven. I put quite a few snub nosed Donzi owners in their place, especially when the water was sloppy.

We're these boats originally fitted with mufflers?

Yes, they had a a type of "T" muffler on each side with a crossover. It was a form of quick and quiet from Corsa. I have some pics on my old computer I will dig up.

There's a pic here and you can kind of see the odd mufflers and crossover.

Tried to embed but it doesn't work. Here is a pic of my old U19. You can see the exhaust much better in this pic.

Great Pic. Thanks. Shows the stock set up clearly.
Any idea how much of a noise reduction the balance hose and mufflers would provide as compared to my straight thru system?

I can't say for sure but I know my u19 was quieter than my other boats with straight thru hull.
