Old boat was an Advantage 25 Citation bow rider. A few minor motor mods got it into the high 60's - wife was a trooper and even rode in the bow on a few poker runs. I ran that boat hard on occasion but never on the ragged edge or carelessly. Wife was 100% down to roll like that.
Upgraded to a 35 Lightning last year. SWEET! Now we got a real performance boat! This Fountain does everything 1000 times better. She's not a fan. No interest in going over 70 now. Sits in the middle of back seat holding the oh **** bars with her head down if the speedo is reading 8, 9 or 10. Really kind of a buzz kill.
When we talk about it she says the "sensation of speed" in the Fountain makes her uneasy. She knows it's safer, more stable, built for it, etc and trusts me/my skills. All the boat crashes of late have really scared her too. I've tried to get to her understand there is a big difference between Vee's and Cat's and driver error but in her mind it's all the same. I'm considering a Tres Martin class for both of us to get her more comfortable with it all.
