From a guy who has had them for a bit.

Thanks rocksandblues. I'm the guy and I’ve owned Seven’s engines for 4 years now and couldn’t be more impressed or happier with their product. I repowered my 2010 34Regulator in 2013/14 with a pair of 557’s and put more than +200 hours on them. Not one issue whatsoever. I then upgraded to the 627’s last year and have almost 100 hours on them. They are engineering beauties and I only had 1 minor issue; the port engine throttle-body injector malfunctioned. Seven over-nighted, that very same day, 2!! new throttle bodies; one to replace the malfunctioning unit on the port engine and one to replace the starboard unit that was running fine but they did so JUST as a precautionary measure, ALL under warranty. The repair was made within 11 hours of the diagnosis and I did not miss one minute on the water. Their customer service is exceptional.

(It is important to note the throttle body unit that malfunctioned had nothing to do with Seven marine or their technology. It was a GM issue which could have easily affected any of the 200,000 Cadillac CTS V’s that share the same engine.)

200 hours is nothing.

They are newer motors on limited boats. So it's hard to get samples, all I got for ya.

He talks about their customer service and a warranty fix that seemed to be above and beyond what Merc offers.

Also 200hrs isn't exactly not using a boat. I owned the Sonic for 3 years and never put that many hrs on it.

That's why I posted. I have no idea what happened, but if there was a vibration problem; maybe this was an effect.

Sometimes though, bad things happen to good stuff; no matter who puts it together:

I know of that incident personally and that was not a Mercury failure.
