Short story, when I bought my boat the seller failed to sign back of title and now refuses to sign. Please PM me if interested.
Thank you.

I would recommend going to a Texas title service, fees are reasonable and they should be able to get it done without getting you in any trouble.

They were able to get a title for a friend that bought a gooseneck then lost the title, previous owner moved out of state and even worse vin was damaged during modification of the goosneck. He did have a bill of sale though, no vin on it.

Wobble, thanks for the heads up but boats are through PWD and that is different. I have BOS and Title unsigned on back (release). I need to get it signed. Thanks again

Just give me a call tomorrow - I am LIC boat dealer and have been doing titles and MSO for 30 years in the boat world with New boats and used boats.

Do you still have my number ?

why won,t he sign it?

It is the owners responsibility if in fact the seller is the owner of the name on the title that sold it. That might be the problem - he is not the name on the title ???? I do not know -

If he is the name on the title and you have a SIGNED bill of sale by this seller - he refuses to sign the title - you have the recourse as it can be treated as an illegal sale and then same goes if the guy who sold it to you is not the guy on the title. If so you have him either way. I do not have the time to write the story book all about this.

If the seller took the payment for the boat, would he not be legally obligated to execute his part of the transaction? IE....sign the title over to the new owner.
