For the 6 mil evaluation I'm assuming you get more than just the 9 mil in purchase orders? Tooling, molds, etc? Given the real estate is not included in the price.

Make a CC deck for those hulls and they might start moving some boats!

If you look at this as a big picture......owner says there are 27 million in orders pending. Lets assume the boats are just 333K (to make the math easy)....so for 27 million you are looking at building 81 new boats. The market simply cannot absorb 81 new BT's.......there are not 81 people out there that want floating condos for 333K each. Even bumping the price per unit to 500K, means they need to sell 54 new BT's.......once again there aren't 54 buyers looking for new BT's. I'm not sure BT even made 81 boats from 2000-2011 when the other thread indicated the last boat was built. In the other thread the owner wanted 950K for everything and you could rent the factory for $3500 a month........that was all insanity. Now 6mm, plus 1.2 for the inventory, plus 3.6 for the factory puts your investment at just a touch under 11 million! 11 million invested and returning just 4% is 440K a year sitting on the couch. You probably could buy the most expensive BT for sale today for 100K, dump 40K into refreshing it and then spend 300K enjoying it and coming out way way way ahead of trying to make your 11 million back building them! :D http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...ec-o67696.html |

I realize this isn't true, but it is funny. One would think they've been going 24/7/365 since day one if you believed the ad. Buck |
I can't remember the last time I saw a BT in and around Hannibal on my way to LOTO. I used to see them all the time back in the early to mid 2000's. Last time I drove past the plant it was tumbleweeds and crickets.

I loved my BT but the company and its operations were interesting at best I liked Don J he seemed to be a pretty straight guy but Bob well that is another story. It is a shame they never continued but it was inevitable trying to continue based on only two size boats (43 and 46--basically same boat but for swim area and a smidgen to the nose. The running surface was the same )
I sold for them on the side for a few years with a buddy of mine I could write a book on what all went down there Best thing to ever come out of BT was Terry Sobo He is a first class act that has done himself proud at NorTech BTW I thoroughly enjoyed the reading ad.... |

Well thank you kind sir....
BTW I thoroughly enjoyed the reading ad.... Half-ass serious: you could put a cabin in it that would be akin to "normal boats" with 3-4' headroom, and THEN put a CC deck on top of it! |
