Default History of Performance Boat Manufacturers?

Can anyone point me to any books, web links, or forum posts that would allow research on the history of performance boat brands? It would be nice to have some kind of resource for when a brand first started, when it changed ownership, if they still produce boats, etc. As a newbie, all these brands are VERY confusing and it seems like the players are always coming and going quickly. Like who started Powerquest? And when did they start? Do they still build today? Those type of questions for all brands.

To answer the questions from the OP:
Powerquest started mere moments after Powerplay (FL) sued Power Play (MI) because of the name similarity. Somewhere around 89, 90, or maybe as late as 91. Powerquest is out of business and assets were liquidated by about 2012. Power Play started in a garage in West Michigan with a couple of guys, a dream, and a Baron.

Thanks. I think it'd be nice to have a thread or sticky somewhere with information like above for the manufacturers. Alphabetical order, just start listing off the information. The knowledge is here, with people like yourself, and it could probably be completed quickly.

It could be difficult to search but I'm guessing the court systems around the Miami area have a lot of information in their bankruptcy filings !!!
