Havasu: Fall Heatwave Poker Run
 

Just back in the office after three beautiful days in the crystal-clear-blue waters of Lake Havasu. Art & Craig, you guys sure know how to have a poker run!

If any of you were at the Spring Poker Run, you need to get a copy of the video. It’s professionally done and totally kick ass! Just curious Art, how much did Cig1 and Dougie Fresh have to bribe you to get themselves in the video so much? :eek: :D

Here’s a few pictures we took along the way and a few thoughts as the synapse fire randomly between slugs of caffeine. Would certainly enjoy seeing pictures others took this weekend.

The first picture is of Don & Laura's 36 Skater. Can you believe they trailered down from Seattle for this? There was also a number of other people from Seattle including our own timewarp. Caleb, it was fun to finally get to talk to you at lunch Saturday, let us know the next time you are coming down.

Here's the lovely Kelly helping Tank. Who's your Daddy girl?

Here's the boat that got Havasu Cat to change his display name. Believe that's Semper Fi hiding in there also.

Rick32 aka Dark Side, some good looking women and some old fart.... I mean, vintage boater. ;)

What would a poker run be without the bikini girls passing out the cards. Thanks!

JOE DADDY!!!! You are my hero man! Had ANOTHER great trip to Havasu. I must say one of the hylights was running in Jims tiger up the Topak gorge at 90!! That thing is just straight wicked!! Hearing those 900's humming in you ear (thats all you can hear;) ) is awsome. That run we ran up to Havasu springs with you and Kathy Jim in the Tiger Justin in the Apache and Kelly and I in the cig was fun too.

Even though we didn't "officially" participate in the poker run it is always a great time put on by Craig and Art. I'm already looking forward to Aprils Spring Heatwave poker run!!:eek: :D

Joe, wheres the pics of us running up to Havasu springs?? I'm getting Kelly to develope the 3 roles of film we have and we're having them put to disk so hopefully I can figure out how to post them on here:rolleyes:

Believe this is where Kelly tried out here martini as a hair conditioning treatment. ;)

We were all waiting outside the channel for Nort so we could do a Topock run. This Cig was waiting with us, sorry I don't remember your name. But nice engine hatch cover. :D

Close up of the Tiger. Kind of intimidating when this comes along side you with the sound of those dry headers.

DAM the stories of the old days on Thunder Boat row were just AWSOME. Heres a guy that was sitting in his Office at Cigarette when Arronow was killed right out front!:eek: Any frickin question I had about cigs were answered during this trip.

Yo Tank ... my weekend wasn't all bad. Saturday morning we took the Jungle Fever Tiger out to stretch it legs. Then Saturday afternoon, I went out for some speed runs in the Illusion Tiger. Sunday, we went for a run to Dana Point in Illusion.

It was better than a stick in the eye :D

Ya, but see both those boats should've been in Havasu!!!:rolleyes:

Now back to Havasu ... UT, post some more pics :cool:

Gary, after towing Kevins boat out to Havasu all weekend and running it I'm seriously ready for either a gun or a cafe!! I need to sell my boat though man:rolleyes: :( Ummm, did you take care of the little motor problem??

I should get a call today or tomorrow for me to come pickup EVERYTHING. What a frickin' headache :rolleyes:

We had a blast...I even got some video of you running to the first card stop. I'll try to get it on a server for your viewing pleasure.

We were pretty loose...but loose is fast, right? We were trying to represent the "little guys" (26' and under)...

You can always count on Nort for some pictures :cool: Sorry we missed the river run, we even brought our video camera to shoot your boat this time. But it was getting dark and I'm a big coward about coming down river in low light. Next time for sure Nort.

Great pictues UT..It was a good time. Good seeing everybody and meeting Craig Barry, he was definitely a fascinating (sp) guy. I think Semper Fi was picking his brain quite a bit about the old days at Cigarette.

UT, I heard there was also some good video of us running as well. We were not entered in the run but the helicopter seemed to be all over us. I heard we got booed at the dinner for not wearing jackets but we were just running down the lake to find a good spot to watch the fast boats come back. I wonder if I can get some video footage or if they are going to cut us out.

No, I don't work on Mondays after kewl three-day weekends at the lake. Old bones are tired, brain to slow, too many phone messages to return, piles too high.

We had a pretty good time over the weekend, although we didn't really get to catch up with any OSO/SCOPE guys.

Tank, we wanted to stop and BS with you guys when I saw you heading into the channel, but we were running late to pick up my inlaws. Maybe next time I can see one of your famous back flips off the transom...:D

Uncle Toys, I think that I saw you at the dinner on Sat after the poker run, but when I tried to find you to say hi I couldn't....It looked like they got some good footage of your boat on the video Sat.

Havasu Cigs, we saw you guys cruising around a lot but never the same direction we were heading...:rolleyes: They did get some good shots of yoar boat running, I'm sure that somehow you can get at least some raw footage. It's time for you guys to get that boat out here. :D:D

I haven't watched my video of the spring poker run yet, but I'll check it out tonight.

Did anybody count how many broken boats there were??

UT- Only problem was no gas in car?
How about you get back home &
1-your new cd that was in player is now on the floor after being steped on & another cd comes blarring out at you when you start truck.
2- Your seat is now in the layed back positiion.
3-You have a hard time reconizing your truck ( in is in the garage where you left it) after they went out to see how well the 4 wheel drive works in the mud.
4-one quarter of your tools that were in the tool box are now in the back of bed. The other quarter are ????
5-Your good looking High dollar hitch is missing from the reciever.
6-You can not quite figure out the smell in your truck, but after looking around you find they went to visit TO's BK & forgot about eating it.
7- I just know there are more, just have to try & remember the rest.

TJ – I’m in denial (and not the river in Egypt). Now her mother – that’s another story. :eek: :D

Steamin' – Sorry we kept missing. We'll catch up with you on of these times. I caught the end of the footage of my boat Saturday at dinner– the part that looked like I was up on the port sponson and about to roll. The entire crowd gasped. Funny thing is, I don’t remember any part of the run like that. Can’t explain it!

Chris, talk to Art on the side. He's a super-cool guy, I'd bet he'd work something out for you. Wondered what the boo'ing was about. The crowd boo'ed some boats and cheared others - we were confused.

If you look close, I think that GPS shot shows around 100...I don't think we got passed all day...

Not too bad for a little pleasure boat...;) We were definately hanging it out...we launched a couple times, and the nose came up (all I saw was sky)...but never went below 90...

...except when the jet-skier cut us off around Copper Canyon...:mad:
