Can someone recommend which is the best oil cooler and where to purchase for a 540 c.i. with an 871 blower.

I got the big one from eddie marine. I installed with permacool t-stat & seems to work perfect. Oil warms up quickly & lowest pressure I have since installing is 70, before sometime after hard running it would go down to 30-40.

I've got a friend with a 540 and 8:71, 850 hp. He had trouble with the oil getting hot and just replumbed the stock one to get cooler water first, no more problem. I think the trans cooler was getting water before the oil cooler, so he switched them.

I used Teague's big coolers on a Top Gun, 540's and ran -12 Areoquip line. Installation turned out excellent. You can get the coolers in pratically any color you want...

Do any of you guys know what the oil and water temps are with a 540 c.i. blower motor??
