From what I understand there are former Katech folks involved at XVI Power so this project looks more and more like a marinized version of the engine built for Cadillac in '03, much like the way Ilmor marinized the Viper V10. Good for them. I understand Becker built the block and cam for that GM project and maybe XVI Power went back to them for this block (no need to reinvent the wheel) and to Whitey for the crank.

Not to distract, but wasn't there a guy from Canada that was wanting to make the V16 just like the Cadillac engine that people are referencing?

So the million dollar question is. Has it ran?

Yes-the XVIpower V16 has been on the dyno for break in and resting during the boat show and has not disappointed in any way.Shes put out 1,200 hp and 1,100 lbf of torque at 6,000 rpm so far. Also with a few changes can be 1,400 hp still naturally aspirated.Again,I am so proud of the XVIpower team for doing exactly what they said they could do.Its very exciting for everyone and will be amazing to see, hear, and feel these thoroughbreds in a boat.

I had a look at this engine and liked alot of the things about it; dry sump built into bottom of pan, the water circulation system and thermostat routing... seems like the team has put alot of thought in this. I can see these engines going into alot of cats and even bigger v bottoms with not much rerigging--- no they wont fit in a 30 ft formula but they shouldnt be in a boat like that.

The ability to access top end valvetrain pcs cheap and easily is a huge plus

Cant wait to see and hear them run in the cat

Thanks-a tremendous amount of thought went into the design for ease of maintenance and even to make sure the tools needed to do so would fit.Rigging should be a snap and if you look close enough there are ports already in place for an inter cooler.

None taken! When it comes to engines of any kinds enginelabs.com is excellent and way above my level. But for some reason, I can't open that link.
