Default Powering 8" speakers - amp question

Hey all,

I think I'm going to try some 8" Kickers in my boat as an upgrade from the stock Sonys. The 8" Kickers take 150 W RMS. I see there's a lot of choices in 4 CH amp that push 100 RMS. Very few that push 150 RMS. Is this a 1 for 1 thing or is it diminishing returns? As in, 100W will wake up the speakers very well but 150W won't be a huge increase? Or will I be regretting not just going with the expensive 150W 4 CH?

Just 4 so I'll either do 150 W RMS x4 or 100 W RMS x 4 depending on amp capability.

Of course I say this now. In a couple months I'll probably be adding another four and an amp knowing me.
