Geico's move was one of the best I've ever seen in boat racing! I spent many years driving dirt track cars and we'd call that a slide job, and Geico's move was as close to a boat slide job as you're ever going to see.

[QUOTE=MissGeicoRacing;4539152]while similar ...Offshore racing is not Auto ROAD RACING. You can't pick an "auto" racing line switch lanes take the entire turn up . SBI emphatically states HOLD YOUR LINE. Every offshore racer knows this. CMS tried to optimize and take a "sacrificial racing line" swing wide and pin the turn leave the boats behind to drive through their wake and roost. Essentially get wide and use the whole turn up. We were carrying speed 147 on the inside and its illegal for us to change our line (because we would get penalized immediately) and they were clearly on the outside. After getting pushed around and hosed down for 5 laps we needed to change positions. Leave us a hole and we are taking it.
In no way are we looking to crash ours or anyone else boat but who goes into the harbor turn at 90 deg with traffic?
Thank you very much for your insight and that move was awesome!! It amazes me how you are able to turn these boats at 140+ and accelerate out of the turns. Sure seems like they have enough footage to make these shows 2 hours and include some of the smaller boats footage.

As for the penalty.. what we were told....is that we were penalized 1 min for shuttling our crew across to the mole to watch race. . We along with most teams have done this for the past decade with no issues no warnings.

Watched it again today and again got choked up over the tribute to the stihl race team and there fallen driver, friend, and loved family member it was great to see and he will be missed. Our sport has lost alot of good people over the last few years more then I wish to count let's try to make this a fun but safe year of boating and racing.
