Default Drive & Tab Controls for Scarab 29

Just bought a 1997 Scarab 29. 1) The buttons for the drives seem to be inverted to me? When I push the switches up, the drive indicators on the panel move towards the "Out" position (down on panel). Push the buttons down, and they move towards "IN" position (up on panel). Is that correct or should they be going the other way? It's opposite of the way the indicator on the drive panel moves, and is confusing to me.
2) Same thing for the trim tabs. Down on the trim button moves the tab up, and up on the trim button moves the tab down. Also, the buttons from left to right on the tabs are reversed?

Should I reverse these controls somehow? Or is this how they're supposed to be?

Ayuh,.... Sounds pretty normal to me,.....

When ya trim the drive up, that's out, which raises the drive, 'n the bow of the boat,...
In is down, aka: tucked in, trimmed down,....

OK, thanks. Makes sense about the drives, I guess. But shouldn't the tabs be simply up & down to match the movement on the gauge?

The drives are right. I've seen the tabs both ways. I prefer my tabs to be opposite of yours. I like to push the buttons down and have the tabs go down. Easy fix.

Come to think of it, the only boat I've owned that was backwards to me was our Scarab.
