Growing up in MN I started off with hydrostreams and STVs with 2.4s and 2.5s, never quite gave them up because they are so damn fun. So a few years back I acquired a mold for a tunnel hull, finally decided it was time to pull the trigger. I contacted Todd Lamb of Screaming Eagle Boats, we talked and penned a contract to build one. The following are mold and build pics, top deck came out way better than I thought. I would imagine he will be starting on the hull this coming week. It is VE resing, coosa transom/knees/bulkheads, and foam core...100% wood free. This first hull will be powered with a new 300xs. 4 bucket seat configuration with small sun pad, right hand steer and foot throttle.

Very nice! We had a jet tunnel growing up and the boat was a blast. The sensation of speed when you're sitting on the water in a small boat is something else. Let us know how she runs when complete.

Wow, you put some serious work into that mold. Just so you guys know, I owned the mold for several years, but I could never get the project past the Coast Guard flotation testing stage. It's short enough that the coasties wanted me to prove the boat would float when flooded and I had to limit the power to a very low level like 75hp or something. These rules didn't apply to custom projects like this though.
I always thought the mold had really good lines and the steps in the bottom looked about right to be a good runner. I planned on using a 2.5 merc, but a 3.0 will be a scary fun ride! A Evenrude V8 would be cool too. I also thought a stern drive with an aluminum LS motor, would be killer, but I wasn't certain of the CG being correct.
Please keep posting your progress, maybe I'll have you pull a second one!
