Can this really be true ????
This matter has been all cleared up. All of the affected parties are happy.
So this was thankfully never a real issue. |
Doesn't seem like a reason to turn down an entry. Money is money and one more boat could be the winning hand.
|
Possibly a lack of docking space????

Could be a number of reason but I would bet anything none of them have to do with a boat being a feature in any boating magazine.

I agree with Nate. Doubt there is a conspiracy afoot.

Maybe some nervousness sinking in having "too many" boats in a poker run -- for fear odds are higher for a mishap?

Let's hope to hear more from someone that was closer to this incident. I don't think that we need Poker Run wars. If the Devil were to put on a poker run in Ft. Myers I would enter that too, along with entries into the other 2.

To think it has to be due to a boat being in a magazine is very far fetched though. Honestly I don't think anyone gives a damn who's boat is in what article when it comes to that. |
There are all sorts of reasons why this could happen.
Some runs I have done were limited to dock slips or hotel rooms at a facility. Others have a signup deadline to secure a certain number of slips/facilities that can't change. I have also seen egos, attitudes, and poor judgement break up long time members and clubs. I doubt it has to do with just the boat being featured in a different magazine because if that were the case, many of us would be limited to one group or another. When I was in Key West last year, my friend Mike's Skater was the cover of three different magazines. I have been blessed over the years to be covered by "Speed on the Water", "Poker Runs America", "Powerboating in Paradise" (Florida Powerboat Club), "Powerboat" Magazine, "Powerboat Nation", and named NJ Performance Powerboat Club "Boater of the Year" in 2007. |
