34 Advantage.. ? It's a big house of a boat with a ton of room and not gonna outrun much with 496s but well within your budget.

I have just about decided that I don't need a boat that big, although they are sexy. Would have to buy a new truck probably. I have a 2015 2500 Duramax.
What's that say at the bottom of your posts...??? THINK BIG...... Your Duramax will haul that TG Cig just fine. I tow the NT with a Ram 2500 no problems.

This is the first boat that I looked at. Very nice, but no trailer and it was still winterized, so I couldn't run it. Owner says that it will run 70, but I am skeptical. The guys at Advantage tell me it is a waste of time and money to put big power in it, It was never meant to go fast.

I am flying to Havasu Tuesday morning to look at the 32 Advantage. I put a deposit on it for them to hold it for me. Still has the original heads, head gaskets and flat tappet camshafts. I wish it was a little newer, but it is supposed to be perfect. I may check out that Shockwave while I am there.

Looks like Shockwave has another 34 in their inventory. But they're in so-cal so not sure if you can swing that on your trip.

33 Hallett you might be able to snag in your price range. I think it's been for sale for a while.

The 32 Advantage ought to run 100 with those upgraded 575s.

A tad bit smaller then what you are looking at, but have you seen the 2011 30' Sonic Vendetta with the Illmore 625 listed in Las Vegas craigslist? Looks pretty sharp and I'm sure it runs a good number. Just a thought while you're out there. Listed at 99k i believe

Hey snapmorgan, When you are making a significant purchase like a high performance boat, the total cost of ownership should be considered. Most of the boats you have mentioned are well suited to your needs. My opinion is to try and avoid regional or "trendy" manufacturers or designs. Also, while Ilmor's may be good, limited parts availability issues and the cost to maintain and service a Viper power plant will be higher than a BB Chevy. The resale value of a brand like Cigarette, O/L, Fountain, Donzi etc. may also be a consideration. It is delusional to call our purchases "investments", however less of a beating, and a rapid sale the next time around is a nice perk! Just my thoughts Bud!

I know you don't what a 496 boat but the 06 and up twin step 32 sunsation would meet your needs pretty well. They will run 83 to 85 any day of the week. I am assuming you do a lot of boating on the river since you live in Evansville. I don't know if you have checked on insurance yet but mine was going to be triple on the 525 boat I was looking at over the 496 h.o boat.
