Rik, your drives are bullet-proof!

Thanks for all the imput. But I'm not looking for a drive I'm looking for a 30ft cat haul. I know you can put a short center pod a 30ft cat and run a single.

Dave Adams (Liberator in Texas) built one of his with single inboard configuration. I know it was up for sale at one point but I have no idea where the boat is at now. You might want to give him a call, they are a 30 spectre splash. I think the guy ended up with a B-Max to have it live.

A 30 foot cat would be too big for a single outboard motor, so I'm assuming you mean a single I/O? If we're talking about I/O power, on a single application the motor would have to sit on the tunnel and would be very tall. The deck would have to made so tall that it will not make Predator has a 30 foot widebody cat, I would recommend two LSx motors placed in each sponson with IMCO -2 silver drives with integrated steering right on the drive itself All you need are two 525HP LSx marine motors The LS525HP EFI (dressed) with SS headers, plumbed ready for install but no driveline/drive is $25K each The LS650HP EFI (dressed) with SS headers, plumbed ready for install but no driveline/drive is $31K each carbureted LS570HP no exhaust LS3 6.2L motor $15K IMCO drive is around $18K each Arneson drive kit would work great The XR drives with Sport Master Shorty would work as well . |

If a larger single engine powered boat is what you are after why try to modify someones 30ft hull and hope it works when you can go to a proven center pod setup like DCB, Eliminator or Nordic? DCB built a 29 with a single 1350 that ran like 140 MPH and got on plane just fine. I saw the boat run a number of times and it ran awesome. The Nordic 28 SS is an awesome boat, has that flat deck and sharp entry design that is awesome looking but is a much smaller boat vs the 29 DCB. The Nordic was designed as a single engine deal and I believe holds the record as the fastest single engine powered I/O at like 147 MPH

I recall seeing a single 30ft cat by "Raptor" - if I recall correctly. I don't know anything about them other than they, or it, was advertised as 30' with a single
