I just finished season 1. I liked the show but the on water scenes are a really bad representation of LOTO. Very quiet, smaller boats etc.. Looks more like the Lake in November. "Party Cove" was funny too. And yes the loud wake board boat.
However I remember Miami Vice had a lot of technical flubs too like outboard boats that had the sounds of big inboards. My favorite was when Sonny was late for the Bimini race as he said he spent the morning "bolting a turbo on the mill"..

I watched it all - I liked it; almost a cross between "Breaking Bad" and "Justified" - both of which I loved. The overall view of LOTO seemed pretty tame...I kept wondering "where are all the hot boats?" Saw just a few...

Three other things noted thus far about the series:
1. Bateman is no Cranston
2. There are redneck townies there just waiting to punch Chicagoans in the face and then bufu them ten minutes later.
3. LOTO has pretty flat water.

My wife was watching this a few weekends ago and I quickly got addicted and binge watched it on a rainy Saturday. I don't remember the cruiser / wakeboard boat scene (might have been napping) but when they were spying on the church on the water in their sea-ray sundeck, my wife goes "why did they make that searay sound like it has thru hull exhaust???" I took a closer look and saw the thru hulls out the side. I was pretty excited she noticed it and said something ha.

I have watched the first season with the primary goal of seeing powerboats. Obviously I have been disappointed to see one Donzi owned by a skeezy strip club owner. Otherwise I have enjoyed the series. I have high hopes of something that can rival breaking bad, but that is a tall order as breaking bad was without a doubt the best series I have ever watched.
