My favorite part of the eclipse was working on the boat and paying no attention to it, while others poised to view the eclipse watched me and wondered, "why is he paying no attention to it?" And therefore missed the eclipse.

went out with my welding helmet, was pretty cool. Cant wait till 2024 the totality passes right over the Erie Islands

speaking of welding helmets

2024 over cleveland is in april so you'll need a snowmobile suit to drive over to pib,
if done right, that would be a good kick off for summer at the islands tho

I took the filter out of my helmet and we watched from Lake St. Clair. None of us could get a camera to focus through it though. Should have brought an old manual focus film camera I guess! All my pics came out something like this and there were no clouds:
