Scream Machine is his screen name. It is a 22 donzi, the morning before he left for LOTO the boat ran 114. That was in salt water in coastal Carolina. He was doing good last time I seen him at a poker run this summer.

How fast was the Ilmor 710 Donzi the guy built with the red/white/blue theme?
Suddenly I think the new one in the classifieds for 50K looks perfect and just as fast as I want to go with the 6.2!

There was a Classic -18 here in CT about 10 yrs ago named "Mighty Mouse". It had a Pro-charged 400+ CI small block in it that reportedly made 900+ HP. It had an Arenson Surface Drive on it. The boat was said to run
120 MPH. You can see it on Youtube ..... type in Mighty Mouse Donzi....really cool boat but again...I wouldnt want to be a passenger.

I ran with Stan Pike and that boat a couple years ago on Lake Cumberland. He got mad when I passed him twice and he turned around and told everyone that I "cut him off." He didn't know I was recording the whole run. lmao. The passes are at 7:50 and 9:48.

I look at it this way: His money, his time, his boat, his life. While opinions on projects such as this one always vary within the performance boating community, most people outside the community think the entire activity—and they make no distinction between catamarans and V-bottoms—is crazy. Just something to consider.

It certainly looks good but I'm just not sure it's worth it to redo the entire boat, strakes, bulkheads etc and then redesigning the hull, adding the pad and other mods to try to turn it into a "fast" boat when you can just start with a fast boat. Because as you get passed 100, aerodynamics, weight distribution, hull integrity and hull design are critical to getting to that next level of speed and ensure you stay alive. Each to their own though. Just a terrible hull to start with. Donzi should update these hulls as per this article. https://www.wavetowave.com/home/2017...ck-in-the-past

Bjorn's 22 did run 112 with fairly mild power but also had a pad added.
If someone is setting out to build the fastest Donzi 22C does it count if the hull has been modified extensively? Not IMO.
I don't believe this hull needs to be changed at the factory. Plenty of us love these boats just as they are and the rough water capability is legendary. Mine goes off-shore regularly and runs 83-85 with a 525. I rarely desire any more speed.
