Do they make "wheel locks" for outdrive bolts? #6 merc
I can not look for these things because I do not even know what they are called or if they exist ? The idea is I want something like a wheel lock where you have to use a special key or adapter to be able to remove 1-2 bolts from the outdrive. We all know how easy a out drive is to unbolt and run with.I have two #6 drives and they are $$$
Anyone?
Anyone?

McGard makes drive locks. Not sure about #6 but I know they have them for the 5, so there's a good chance.

Your best way to prevent drive theft is to have the boat backed up to something solid like a vehicle that's not getting moved easily or quietly; or a brick wall/building.
The problem with McGuard locks, is that anyone that's going to be stealing VI drives, probably has a master set of McGuard keys at the ready. And as long as the boat is not within earshot of anyone who would pay attention, 20 seconds with the right kind of grinder and they will just slice off the whole mounting stud.

Now I feel depressed just thinking about some drug addict behind my boat at 3am with a grinder.I think these are hard to cut also because of the type of steel, probably more than 30 seconds
But yes the boat will be against a wall always but for 50$ I think it is much better to have this installed only the most determined thieves will go to my boat instead of another more easy
