Bragging rights make great marketing slogans but they really needs to sell boats in the long run. Good luck to all involved and hopefully the guys running 200 MPH in a Vee bottom do it safely.

how fast is a 42 lightning with 700's?
an sl 41 ol runs 110+
ive been working on a staggered 525 35 fountain and 39 Quattro also 525 stag, both run 94-98 depending on props. The Quattro is a much bigger boat.

What is really apples to apples? The 42 Fountain poker run or the lightning since 41 only has a half cabin.

I know they are going to try to smash a record by installing Sterling power but it would be cool to see Merc 1650's. Regardless, its good to see money going back into the sport.

My customers 41 has a full cabin, head, hot water heater, sink, cooler, etc.
runs 114 with 700's and nxt drives

looking thru archives: 42 Lightning is 105mph with 700’s. which when compared to a comparable 39 cig (size wise) with 700’s that also runs 105...isn’t that impressive.

looks like the 41 ran 115 as JD stated and link below. That’s a full 10mph faster with a cabin. Like I said hp for hp..I still think OL has a faster Bottom. Not really trying to start a war. Going on the numbers.

I agree with your numbers but Instigator vs OL was a pretty amazing battle with similar power in the extreme class. Consider the kilo boat will be a combination of all that race knowledge plus more from the last 10 years,

FWIW - is the OL kilo boat the current extreme race boat?
