Would you buy a boat with hull pox?

Looking at a Baja 272 with a case of the hull pox. Below the water line is peppered with tiny blisters. About 1/8" to 1/4" in size. It has milky oil and interior is getting rough, which doesn't bother me too bad. But if I go and spend the money to make it run and look good, if or when I decide to sell how much trouble do you suppose I will have? I think I could be into it fixed up for 13-14k cad$...with the pox...

Opinion:
To remove all blisters and re-gelcoat is stupid money. Have the hull at the water line sanded down with 80 grit, cost around $2200(Just had mine down). Then once its all dry, prep and paint at least 3 coats of Interlux VC Performance epoxy (I did 5 coats). The VC is harder then gel and has a slick surface. Only issues need to think about, is feathering in to the gel, and possible color mis-match.

I paind to have sanded, but did the painting my self with brush and roller. Came out nice but not as nice if it was sprayed

I wouldn't ........resale would be tuff............there's others out there without the pox's......:lolhit:...........if you plan on keeping it till the transom falls out then go for it, sounds like its sat in the water a long time and the stringers and other spots may be wet.

Blisters aside, if you "think" you can get the boat in usable condition for 13-14K, TRIPLE that number and you might be in the ball park. It's crazy expensive to redo a boat with no hull issues so can't imagine what you'd have in this redo with hull issues. Good luck....

Yeah know how to fiberglass and gelcoat myself, but it would be too big of a job for me. The entire bottom is full of them and on the sides toward the back is a few. The boat has sat in fresh water for 2-3 months every summer for the last couple years. The center floor also needs replaced, bolsters have sunk down into the panel...i can do that myself. Price is $7k as is. Nice aluminum I beam trailer included.

454 bravo 1 ? what yr is it ?

1994. It has a 502 built close to hp500 specs. Gil exhaust. Apparently the bilge pump quit, rain water got in by the lower end of the dip stick tube and then mixed after he started it. I can see a gap where the tube fits in the block as well. It's been flushed a couple times but isn't clearing up fast. Bravo 1. No water in it when I cracked the drain plug. Needs a new steering arm as well. There is play in that on the swivel pin. The gimbal ring is tight on the pin.

Run Forest run.... That boat has more issues than my ex. Your going to end up putting a ton of money and work into it... So much so that you will get most of the way done and then say to yourself "pluck the boating crap" it will not get finished and you will lose you ass
