SVLX is what OPA Calls the SBI Super Vees.
OPA SVL run 525s where as SBI SVL run their own engine package.
OPA was nice enough to give the SBI guys a class of their own to come play in, worked out great!

That was very nice of OPA to offer that, Johnny.... What kind of tech was offered in order to ensure all the boats were in compliance with the specs set forth by each set of rules?

Trent, where are you going with this. You know the answer to your question. I did not hear of any of the teams that competed had a issue or complained. Yes we would all like to have a 100 point inspection to insure equality. The class is growing fast so please don't try and tear it down if you don't plan on racing in it. We are trying to stay positive.

Not being negative whatsoever... I asked a question in hopes that I would get slammed by someone saying that there was tech, but obviously by your response, nothing has changed, which is a total shame. I will continue to be the bad guy in ya'lls eyes due to me pointing out facts and the obvious, but I am coming out to race the class, I will only race where there is tech. I want the class to flourish, but if it is to remain spec, its a joke w/o tech. You witnessed yourself 2 teams get caught with illegal cams and other misc, and I am sure you were happy, your a leader Randy, lay the foundation down now for the future, if you dont fix the issue now, it will just be another class that comes and goes. The foundation of our class starts with QUALITY... quantity doesnt mean a hill of beans w/o the proper foundation. As I have said a million times over the past 17 years to you, we can either work together (and no we dont need to be friends) or you can get the flock to come on here and call me names instead of handling the facts at hand. You have always chosen the later, Im here anytime to help build our class to be around the 20 boat range and be QUALITY, not just quantity

I'm not in the class, so I wouldn't know. They were told at the drivers meeting to pull valve covers and #3 spark plug at the crane. Couldn't tell you if it was enforced, I was too busy witnessing 50ish boats have a great day of racing without a single complaint from anyone. What an awesome, and growing, event. Happy Thanksgiving! This post no longer requires input from me, it isnt my class to argue about. I just answered a simple question for an offshore fan who is probably laughing at our sport currently thanks to this thread.

TS out.

Trent I am not slamming you. In fact we are very similar and want many of the same things. I have asked and tried for years with every org to step up tec. I LOVE TEC !!!!! Maybe now with the class in a position to explode in size and interest it will get better on all levels. When 3-5 of the same boats show at events tec was not at the top of the list with guy's that were best friends, work on each others boats, share all our test data, families hang out together and in general feel they have to trust the integrity of there friends. Going forward with bigger boat counts and people you really don't know I agree it will need to be done and enforced. Happy Thanksgiving (Semi friend LOL)

I work with SBI at races . and I too agree that it is nice of OPA to offer (IMO)

That's why I asked.Makes perfect sense to me.

I also think it would be off the hook to see ALL of svlracing as a unit .

Theyre not that far apart in rules are they?

Really are the rules close?
