Sunsation Building Open-Cockpit Outboard-Powered 32-Footer

Keeping up with the current trend in outboard power, the vaunted builder will offer an updated take on a sportboat classic, https://www.offshoreonly.com/article...ered-32-footer.

Sweet! Should do well for PBC at LOTO.

I don't get it, if it was a closed bow sure, Go fast look and feel with OB's.

But a bow rider with a optional T top,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, why not just have a CC? But non performance boats are offered in the "dual helm" style like this so maybe it will work.

Layout of some of these large bowriders much better than most CC's - obviously my opnion. We have a 32ft Formula bowrider in the family and like it way more for our type boating / area / etc than a CC. walking thru the middle leaves bunch more area for seating and etc vs being able to toally walk around both sides.

Nice that they are kind of going back to their roots; but some of the attributes of that article are exactly what Pat at Active Thunder was thinking a couple years ago.
His son has been a competitive wakeboarder for years; which is why he's spent time in a number of those boats; and why he started building the the AT 29' Defiant.
I hope they sell well for Sunsation. I can see them being a solid performer for mixed lake use and the like.

One has to think customer/dealer input drove the creation of this boat. With the industry the way it is today you just can't speculate that a new model will do well. I can see where maybe PBC said, "we can sell twice as many 32's as we do today if you also offer it as a non-CC model with outboards." Just a guess. A closed deck version would also be sweet.

I hope for instant success. Awesome to see their innovation coming out in a personal favorite.

Glad to see Sunsation continuing to progress, even if it’s not in pure go-fast fashion. I think the 36 ssr has great lines, as well as the 32 and the F4, just hope they don’t scrap them.

LAriverratt 11-29-2017 11:24 AM
