It's sad that Al Copeland died too soon but in the end this project just wasn't viable and they will probably end up cutting the hull up.

Its got to be worth at least a land mark for someone. I live in NJ and there is a marina called "Lighting Jacks". It has a old aluminum race hull possibly 40' with his marinas name on the side of it. When you give directions anywhere close to his marina you always use his place as a land mark based on that boat. My point is advertisement value would be big if that was sitting in front of your establishment.

Maybe they can hold a charity auction and sell chunks of fiberglass.

Now that is sad......

Guy died 10 years ago, boat was the Spruce Goose of performance boats! It was obsolete before the paint was dry.

Great idea but not too many folks will spend 85K for a sign that is 56 ft long! There are towns that won't approve a 8X10 Mcdonalds sign!

85k is an unprecedented bargain, but the question remains - What do you do with it? Since the propulsion systems are also listed in the ad,would it be more viable if it was re - assembled in any configuration and sold for 200k - 300k as the ultimate statement to wretched excess? Even if it ran 100 mph, it would be an incredible conversation piece at the FPC poker runs, and would dazzle the Key West docks. There has to be someone with the resources and the vision to put this beast back in circulation. It would be a travesty to see this icon cut up or used in a demeaning fashion.

Can I run Bravos on it or do I have to step up to sixes?

Drill 40 holes in the transom, throw 10 400's outboard on it and run some fuel lines. Done
