Wellcraft made that Scarab for only 2 years or so. It was not an original Scarab hull like from the late 80's. Some models of this 26 had a unique/strange exhaust set up. It would draw water into "pots" in the engine compartment that would muffle the sound. Most people eliminated the exhaust set up because it was just senseless. They also had issues with those air intake covers. Originally they were only held on with silicone and they would blow off at speed. Later they were modified by screwing them on. That hull later became part of the Excalibur line Wellcraft produced from about 1996 - 98. Excaliburs were made in 20,23 and 26.... They didn't really catch on either.
Hope this helps

Correction. I took a harder look and I don't think that is the hull that morphed into the Excalibur. I worked at a Wellcraft dealer for many years and I'm not sure what that is. Does have some similarities to the Excel line.
Wellcraft was known to build something with different parts they had laying around. They also would change the HIN occasionally when they got it wrong....
